Needles And More Needles…...

Going to the hospital with your child is never easy, my experience just solidified the fact that there needs to be better training on how to approach a child, much less a baby, when it comes to getting shots.

It shouldn't be a forceful scary experience, I am not a doctor but as a Mom I feel the need to speak up about this topic.

May 8th and May 10th 2019

Hey y’all I need to talk about a major problem I have with parenting, and it has nothing to do with my daughter. So on May 8th I had scheduled an appointment for my daughter to get the lead poisoning test done.

We went to the appointment and we sat there.

I made her dad come with me because my daughter is a huge daddy’s girl so she would have the comfort of her Daddy after they stuck her with a needle.

“It was no issue until they told me I needed to hold her down so she couldn’t move, while they did the blood work.”

We got called back and she was in my arms so I sat with her while the doctor did their thing.

It was no issue until they told me I needed to hold her down so she couldn’t move, while they did the blood work.

I have an issue with that. Why do I have to hold my child down, while she screams bloody murder, as they hurt her? I know they are just doing their jobs but still I honestly can’t stand it.

I can’t do anything about it until they are done and by then I just want to cry.

I had to go through the same thing on the 10th, one day after getting her blood work done, we went to the doctors for a check up. When we got into the room I was told she would be getting three shots.

I admit, I snapped on the nurse and asked why couldn’t they give me a heads up? Why did they just keep being like “oh by the way your kid is getting shots this visit.”

It was extremely frustrating.

So once again that week I had to hold my child down, not able to comfort her while she got three shots, one in her left leg and two in the right leg.

I know I may be the only mom out there that feels that way, but I doubt it.

If y’all mommies feel the same, or don’t, that’s okay too. Reach out to kRazy kAtz I’d love to hear what you have to say about the whole experience.

Keep it real fellow readers...Until next time!
